Welcome to our Tavern!

Cumpa is a Creole tavern in the heart of Surquillo, it rescues the flavors of yesteryear, tradition and criollismo united.

Food that takes us back to the house of the grandmother, the grandfather, the godmother, the uncles and everything that takes us to the classic Lima and the north.

The tastiest Jarana

We share our dishes with the flavors of the north such as our good Arroz con pato, Malaya a la norteña, Seco de cabrito and matured duck that will leave you speechless.

The Cumpa

Renzo Miñán began his career in the kitchen of the Social restaurant at the Hilton Hotel and was in charge of it for several years. In 2015 he decided to step aside and bet on his own concept, giving birth to Qalani Barra Marina, his first commitment to the marine world. In 2016, Alzo, a place located in Surquillo, where the Peruvian-Mediterranean fusion is the basis of the menu, in 2020 the pandemic arrived, and although Alzo continues to operate normally, Miñan chose to venture with other concepts. Almacén Cevichería opens its doors in January 2021 and, in a short time, conquered palates. Shortly after, the cook and his partners decide to bet on Cumpa and the rest is history. Recipes with no greater pretension than to present a good product, based on technique, tradition and inspiration. Cumpa is his proposal for a Creole tavern – another concept that is beginning to be used perhaps too much – but, in his case, the rhythm here is set by the northern heritage that is in his blood.

Mornings also have a northern flavor - Brunch Cumpa

Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Mornings at Cumpa are a love letter to the north of Peru.
Our brunch pays tribute to Chiclayo's culinary soul—rich, comforting, and full of memory. Each dish recalls the kitchen sounds of childhood, the warmth of family breakfasts, and the aromas of tradition.

À la carte, we offer a journey through classic northern flavors with a modern twist:
Cheese humita with spicy pickled ají, house-made butifarra, pan with crispy pejerrey and creamy avocado, and the unforgettable “Norteñada bailable” with shredded beef, hearty eggs and house bread.

It’s not just a meal. It’s a ritual of nostalgia and bold Peruvian flavor.

Come with your loved ones, bring your appetite, and let the morning become a celebration.
Reservations are welcome, but not required.
